“We all have two lives. The second one starts when we realize we only have ONE. “ — Tom Hiddleston

Sometimes the best life-advice comes from its simplest form. Such simplicity causes it to appear so delicate and easy to ignore.

Understand these 13 life principles to have a personal freedom, confidence, and wisdom on creating your true meaningful life.

1. There are things in life that we can’t control.

The idea of control, whether to a person or a situation are the root of all kinds of blame nowadays.

Human capabilities are so powerful and yet diverted to the wrong effort.

We can never control weather, politics, the place where we born, our parents, the problems of other people and a lot more.

We can only control our self, which is, in fact, a true gift to every mankind.

How you handle yourself is what truly makes you “in control”, and that’s powerful.

“I cannot trust a man to control others who cannot control himself.” — Robert E. Lee

2. The best way to ‘have more’ is by ‘giving more’.

“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.” — Albert Einstein

We live in a transactional economy, where, most people often expect exchange for any exerted value — whether on physical or non-physical realm: exchange of money, return equal kindness if treated kindly, or worst, an equal hatred over hatred.

In terms of having meaningful connections to others, the idea of transactional trade is bound not to take effect. After the trade were done, the relationship immediately ends.

On the other hand, there’s an idea of transformational relationship. This type of relationship is quite rare but bound to create a concrete connections between people. The idea is about giving value for the purpose of helping others to improve. In this relationship, there is a combined effect where both aim to advance for the benefit of the other.
